The name Lillian is of Latin origin and means ‘lily’ -a symbol of purity and love – and holds special meaning for Margot McKinney as it is the name of a great-aunt and also a granddaughter.
The centrepiece of Lillian is a very important Australian opal, and the many gemstones assembled around it were selected to complement its extraordinary play-of-colour.

Margot describes the Lillian collier, and how it was a highlight of her acclaimed Museum of Brisbane exhibition.
Each and every gem has been specially cut to fit Margot’s exacting design, and the floral motifs echo the beauty and grace of the lily flower.
The bows are joyous symbols of happiness, kindness and femininity.
