In her design for Aurora, Margot McKinney was inspired by the mesmerising lights of the Aurora Australis– the southern hemisphere’s equivalent of the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis. Just as the aurora’s ethereal ribbons of light dance across the night sky, shifting in luminous waves of colour, Margot sought to capture the same sense of movement and brilliance through the pairing of extraordinarily large gemstones with the finest baroque Australian South Sea pearls.

Featured at TEFAF Maastricht
Aurora was a centrepiece of Margot’s debut exhibition at the 2025 TEFAF Maastricht art fair in the Netherlands, and is one of four masterwork pieces created by her specially for the occasion.
